From 24 June to 26 August 2023 the gallery showed “Flowers” by Torsten Solin.

On his website Solin lists “Flowers” as a group of works made up of light boxes (2000–2005), wallpapers and stickers; in 2005 “Flowers” was shown as public art in Jena. In other works he uses manipulated images and self-portraits to examine social stereotypes and gender roles.

Torsten Solin was born in Jena in 1972, studied painting at the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts and was a master student of Prof. Hans-Peter Adamski there. He has lived and worked in Berlin since 2004. His work has been shown at Galerie Torstrasse 161 and galerie hiltawsky in Berlin, at the Gemeentemuseum in The Hague and in New York, among other places. More at torsten-solin.de.
